Our client, a rapidly expanding IT and communications company, is looking for a dedicated VoIP Engineer to join their growing team. If you're someone who enjoys tackling complex call routing issues, fine-tuning SIP trunks, and ensuring crystal-clear communication, this is the role for you!
About the Company
We are recruiting on behalf of a dynamic technology firm that specializes in IT and VoIP services for small to mid-sized businesses. With a strong focus on quality, uptime, and innovation, the company is growing fast and onboarding new clients every month. You’ll be based in their Limassol, Cyprus office and work alongside a collaborative tech team.
What You’ll Do
As a VoIP Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the voice infrastructure—from designing and deploying new systems to monitoring call quality and troubleshooting escalated issues. You’ll also collaborate with network engineers and support staff to deliver secure, high-quality voice services across a variety of platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain VoIP systems based on business and operational needs
- Set up SIP trunking, dial plans, IVRs, call routing, and failover strategies
- Monitor VoIP infrastructure to ensure performance, uptime, and call quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve Level 2/3 voice-related incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Work with network teams to prioritize and secure VoIP traffic
- Integrate voice systems with CRM and ticketing platforms
- Maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and processes
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have the following:
- 2+ years of experience as a VoIP Engineer or in a similar voice infrastructure role
- Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP), codecs, and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark)
- Hands-on experience with SIP trunk provisioning, number porting, and DID management
- Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, NAT, QoS, VLANs) as applied to voice systems
- Ability to assess and improve call quality metrics (MOS, jitter, latency)
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
Nice to Have / Advantageous
- Experience with platforms like Squaretalk, Octella, Twilio, Isabelle, or Asterisk
- Familiarity with integrating VoIP systems with CRMs or third-party applications
- Understanding of voice security protocols (TLS, SRTP) and compliance standards (GDPR, PCI)
- Scripting or automation skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages
- Relevant certifications such as dCAP, CCNA Voice, or equivalent
